Location: A Succulent Day, 3017 W. State Street, Boise ID 83703

Join us on Tuesday, October 15th from 6pm to 7:30pm, for a fun evening of getting your hands dirty and creating your very own and unique succulent concrete orbs with David Jessup of Green Collar Guy Design.

At the workshop, David will teach you how to make your own free form orbs, using a lightweight mix of perlite and cement. They will vary in your preferred size. You will get your hands dirty and make two unique orbs and learn how to plant Haworthia and Gasteria succulents in them with a mix of sphagnum moss.

The orbs that you make at this workshop will need to cure before you plant them, so David will give you step-by-step instructions on how to cure, finish and stain them. You will take your two succulents home to plant them when your orbs are cured. But don’t fret, David will also have cured pieces so you can practice on to hollow them out and then carve or re-finish the surface with wire brushes, scrapers, etc. And also, he will have some stains people can experiment with.

This workshop includes expert instruction on creating two free form cement orbs,  all materials and use of tools, two Haworthia succulents, and succulent care secrets. You are welcome to B.Y.O.B. to enjoy while you get your hands dirty.

About David Jessup:

“I have been a professional gardener for 35 years and have been making my art for 15. I originally designed a single pot which I sold to shops in San Francisco but quickly learned that I had so many design ideas. The pieces are always wonderfully imperfect and I never run out of ideas! I now sell at art shows and to shops, landscapers and florists all through the West and Mid-west.”

This succulent potting party is limited to 15 people. Each person must purchase a ticket to participate.
